Day of Prayer - September 24

On Thursday, September 24 from 6am–6pm, we’re setting aside a day to devote ourselves to prayer—not as something secondary, but as an essential practice and gift God has given His people. Come spend time moving through interactive prayer stations, praying through Scripture, and lifting up the needs of our church and people who need to know Jesus. Then, at 6pm, everyone is invited to gather together for a time of worship and praise as we close out the Day of Prayer.

"All In"

 | John 12:1-11

What does it truly mean to go all in for Jesus?

In John 12, we find Jesus at a dinner just days before the cross. In an extraordinary act of worship, Mary takes costly perfume worth nearly a year’s wages and pours it out on Jesus. She holds nothing back.

Her extravagant devotion stands in sharp contrast to Judas, whose seemingly practical concerns reveal something very different happening in his heart. Their responses invite us to examine our own: Are we willing to surrender what is precious to us, or do we still want to follow Jesus while holding onto control?

But before this passage asks us what we're willing to give Jesus, it points us toward what Jesus was willing to give for us. The cross was drawing near, and Jesus was about to demonstrate the ultimate act of sacrificial love. He held nothing back.

When we understand that kind of love, wholehearted devotion isn't about earning something from Jesus. It's our response to the One who has already given everything for us.

Dinner Parties
Church is more than gathering in the same room on Sunday—it’s sharing life with one another. And sometimes, meaningful relationships begin with something as simple as sitting around a table together. That’s the heart behind Dinner Parties. Over a couple of weekends, several people from Heritage will open their homes and host a small group for dinner. Simply register and choose your preferred date, and we’ll match you with one of our hosts and others from church for an evening together. Your host will then reach out with the location, time, and any other details you need to know. There’s no agenda or program—just an opportunity to share a meal, enjoy good conversation, meet people you may not know yet, and make Heritage feel a little smaller. Whether you’re newer to community here, have been around for years, or simply want to build more relationships within the church family, there’s a place for you at the table. House of Refuge Serve Day
Serving Those in Need Heritage has been partnering with House of Refuge Sunnyslope for years as they help individuals rebuilding their lives after incarceration, addiction, and unemployment. Their ministry goes beyond meeting immediate needs like food, shelter, and safety—they provide a Christ-centered community where residents develop practical life skills, experience meaningful relationships, and work toward lasting transformation. On October 10, Heritage will spend the morning serving at House of Refuge Sunnyslope through several maintenance projects, primarily painting and landscaping. It’s a practical opportunity to come alongside a ministry doing meaningful work in our city and help care for the place their residents call home. Sign up to serve on October 10 and spend the morning making a tangible difference alongside others from Heritage. There are also opportunities throughout the year for Small Groups to serve by preparing meals for House of Refuge residents. Come connect and be encouraged by mothers who are a few stages ahead. God has given us the treasure of mothers in our church who have already walked these same paths and raised their children. These seasoned moms are planning and facilitating a night to feed us, answer our questions and offer the strength that comes from not being on our own in this motherhood thing. Don't bring a thing- just show up to be taken care of! We separate these evenings into two groups based on the age of your children. Thank you for partnering with us as we serve our neighbors in need! Saturday, July 25 Costa Rica Missions Team Returns Home Mentoring Mothers: Floral Arranging - Saturday, July 25th, 9am-Noon. Learn how to beautifully arrange florals from our resident pro, Shannon Fischer! Sunday, July 26 10:00am Worship Gathering - Sunday worship service together in person or online. Heritage Kids - Age-specific ministry & programming during our Sunday worship gathering at 10am. Heritage Youth Sunday Nights - Hangout and gathering from 5:30-7:30pm. Tuesday, July 28 Hobby Night - Creativity and community in a fun, relaxed setting. 6:30-8:30pm in the Café. Upcoming Events Women’s Bible Studies - Both Tue PM and Thur AM women’s studies begin meeting again 8/4 and 8/6. Pastor Blake challenges us to be ready when the world rebels against God, faithful when it opposes His people, and firmly grounded when it rejects His truth. Even in uncertain times, we can live with courage and confidence, knowing that evil’s reign is temporary and God’s kingdom will ultimately prevail.
